April Sharpe received her B.F.A. in painting from the University of Miami in 1995; she has exhibited locally and nationally for two decades. Ms. Sharpe is a Nationally Board Certified Teacher with over 17 years of experience in the Miami-Dade County Public School system. Ninety five to one hundred percent of her AP Studio Art students pass their College Board exams annually. In addition, she was the Art Director for the Learning Tree of Arts, a private enrichment center, from 1997-2005. Ms. Sharpe’s philosophy of art education revolves around exposure- not only exposing students to as wide of a range of materials as possible, but also exhibiting their work in every available venue. She feels that visibility is the key to building student portfolios for college acceptance and/ or scholarships. Ms. Sharpe currently lives in Miami with her husband and three children.
